Workshop Description

Working positively with the news media is a necessary and essential skill for school administrators in the 21st Century.  This interactive workshop will provide a framework for working positively with all types of media, including group problem solving, role playing exercises, and writing press releases.

Intended Audience

Administrators, Public Information Officers, School Board Members

Instructional Objectives will include:

• Understand how to effectively manage the media during and after a critical incident
• Understand how to write and deliver press releases
• Understand how to promote a positive relationship with media groups
• Understand how to respond to questions and answers during a press conference
