Workshop Description

Using the most recent information provided by the Department of Homeland Security and the United States Department of Education, this workshop will provide school personnel the necessary information to design and implement emergency response plans that are appropriate for schools in the 21st Century. 

Intended Audience

Administrators, Teachers, School Resource Officers, School Nurses, Counselors, Social Workers, Maintenance Personnel, Transportation Personnel, Safety Coordinators

Instructional Objectives will include:

• Understand the components of an emergency response plan that meets federal guidelines and recommendations
• Understand how to adapt emergency response plans for extracurricular and co-curricular events
• Understand how to create and market a school safety portfolio
